Content Item Actions

Fill your boards with content straight from the Shortcuts app. These actions cover four families of items — text, shapes, media, and everything else — from sticky notes and flowchart shapes to photos, PDFs, and nested sub-boards.

Text Items

Add Note

Adds a classic sticky note to your board.

Parameter	Description
Board	The board to add the note to
Text	Note content (supports Markdown)
Alignment	Left, Center, or Right
Color	Hex color code for the note background
Font Name	Font to use (optional)
Font Size	Text size in points (optional)
X/Y Position	Where to place the note
Width/Height	Note dimensions
Rotation	Angle in degrees

Add Note Card

Adds an index card with a title and body section.

Parameter	Description
Board	The board to add the card to
Title	Card title text
Body	Card body content (supports Markdown)
Title Font/Size	Title formatting
Body Font/Size	Body formatting
Title/Body Alignment	Text alignment for each section
Color	Card background color

Add Label

Adds a text label for headings or annotations.

Parameter	Description
Text	Label text (supports Markdown)
Color	Text color
Font Name/Size	Text formatting

Add Task

Adds a checkbox task item.

Parameter	Description
Text	Task description
Completed	Whether the task is checked off
Color	Task color

Shape Items

Add Shape

Adds a shape with optional text content. More than 50 shape types are available.

Parameter	Description
Shape Type	Select from available shapes
Text	Text inside the shape (supports Markdown)
Color	Fill color
Border Color	Stroke color
Border Width	Stroke thickness
Alignment	Horizontal text alignment
Vertical Alignment	Top, Center, or Bottom

Available Shapes

• Basic: Circle, Square, Diamond, Triangle, Pentagon, Hexagon, Octagon, Heart, Star, Cloud, Cross, House, Shield, Seal, Sun, Light Bulb, Drop, Sparkle, Page, Frame
• Arrows: Right Arrow, Left Arrow, Up Arrow, Down Arrow, Left-Right Arrow, Up-Down Arrow
• Flowchart: Process, Decision, Terminator, Data, Document, Multiple Documents, Connector, Predefined Process, Manual Input, Manual Operation, Stored Data, Database, Direct Access Storage, Internal Storage, Delay, Display, Preparation, Off-Page Link, Merge, Or, Summoning Junction, Extract

Media Items

Add Photo

Adds one or more images to the board.

Add Video

Adds video files that can be played on the board.

Add Audio

Adds audio files with playback controls.

Add PDF

Adds PDF documents that can be viewed on the board.

Add Link Preview

Adds a web link with an automatic preview (title, image, description).

Other Items

Add Emoji

Adds a single emoji character as a resizable item.

Add Contact

Adds a contact card from your Contacts app.

Add Sub Board

Creates a nested board within the current board. Sub-boards can contain their own items and can be opened to view their contents.

Tips

All items support Markdown formatting — use bold, italic, and bullet lists in your text content.
