Automation

Automate board creation and management with Apple Shortcuts.

Corkulous includes extensive support for Apple Shortcuts, the automation app built into iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. Build workflows that create boards, add items in bulk, connect elements, and export your work — from simple one-step actions to complex multi-app automations — with app activation or permission prompts where required by the action or operating system. What You Can Automate

  • Create and manage boards: Create new boards, open existing ones, delete boards, and export to various formats.
  • Add content: Add notes, cards, labels, shapes, photos, videos, audio, PDFs, links, contacts, emojis, and tasks.
  • Connect items: Link items with strings (corkboard style) or formal connectors (flowchart style).
  • Organize: Group items together, nest sub-boards, and control item positioning.

Getting Started

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.
  2. Create a new shortcut or edit an existing one.
  3. Search for “Corkulous” in the actions list.
  4. Add Corkulous actions to your shortcut.
  5. Configure parameters and run your automation.

Example Use Cases

  • Daily journaling: Create a new board each morning with date-labeled notes.
  • Photo import: Automatically add photos from your camera roll to a board.
  • Meeting prep: Generate boards with agenda items from calendar events.
  • Project templates: Create pre-structured boards with cards and connections.
  • Export workflows: Automatically export boards to PDF and share via email.

Tips

Combine Corkulous actions with other apps in Shortcuts to build powerful cross-app workflows. For example, fetch data from a web API and create a board with the results.

Review Permissions and Outputs

A shortcut can send exported board data to the apps, websites, or recipients in its later steps. Review the full workflow before running it, especially actions that delete boards, replace files, or send data to AI services. Keep a backup for destructive workflows and confirm the result before running a large batch.
